PPGEC participates in the Move La América Program, offering sandwich master’s and PhD positions for students from Latin America and the Caribbean
The Move La América Program aims to complement the internationalization efforts of Brazilian Higher Education Institutions by attracting students from foreign teaching and research institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. This strengthens Graduate Programs (PPG) and creates an international institutional environment.
The Program will provide scholarships for master’s and PhD students from foreign teaching and research institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. These scholarships are for conducting internships, research, extension activities, and possibly taking courses in Postgraduate Programs (PPG) at Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (IES), Federal Institutes, or Research Institutes, always in areas related to their field of study.
The Move La América Program will be implemented through the publication of notices that will define the requirements for granting, the selection schedule, fundable items, obligations of the parties, and other necessary elements for carrying out the action.
The deadline for applications is August 8. The number of positions available at each participating Brazilian higher education institution can be accessed on the CAPES website. The PPGEC offers two master’s and two PhD positions. Foreign students must apply through the CAPES Registration System (Sicapes). The three selection rounds by the IES will take place from August 15 to 22, from August 29 to September 5, and from September 12 to 19. The pro-rectories will make the approvals from September 26 to October 3. The results of this stage will be announced starting October 8.
After these stages, there will be a technical analysis until November 7, followed by the preliminary result from November 8. Candidates will have ten days to appeal. The final announcement will be from November 26. Activities are set to start in the first semester of 2025.
