Laboratory of Building Information Modeling (BIM)

The Laboratory of Construction Information Modeling was set up in partnership and with investment from the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) and is located in the LEC 201 room, with an area of 70.2 m². The Laboratory houses 11 computers with high capacity for graphic processing equipped with software aimed at programming (Embarcadero Delphi RAD, Visual Studio, Dynamo), modeling in BIM technology (Revit), structural analysis software (SAP2000 and CSIBridge) and academic versions of structural calculation and budgeting software integrated with BIM (AltoQi Eberick, Builder, Visus, Cloud, ACCA Edificius, ACCA EdiLus, ACCA PriMus). There is also a space in the Laboratory for holding meetings with suitable furniture, as well as presentation equipment (65-inch touch TV).

The work carried out in the Laboratory of Construction Information Modeling has a direct connection with the area of Construction Engineering. In relation to other institutions and postgraduate programs, there is great potential for interface and support in the areas of BIM, structures and infrastructure works, budgeting and maintenance management of civil works. There is a partnership with the Edifica Junior Company, from the DEC/UFV, in the development and study of building modeling, with the Laboratory of Computational Methods in Engineering (MCE) in the area of structural mechanics and structural analysis of bridges, and also with the DNIT through the development of a research project. There is also potential for agreements with other institutions and researchers.
