BIM DNIT/UFV Seminar

On March 20th and 21st, 2024, the Civil Engineering Department of UFV will host a visit from DNIT Engineers Luiz Heleno Albuquerque Filho, M.Sc., and Galileu Silva Santos, D.Sc. During this visit, besides meetings with the coordinators of TED DNIT/UFV and tours of the laboratories, they will participate in technology demonstrations and deliver lectures to the academic community and interested parties.

Galileu Silva Santos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa (2007), a Master’s degree in Structures and Civil Construction from the University of Brasília (2009), and a Ph.D. in Structures and Civil Construction from the University of Brasília (2014), with research conducted in partnership with the University of Minho in Portugal (Sandwich Doctorate). Currently, he is the Coordinator of Studies and Research at the Institute of Transportation Research (IPR) of the National Department of Transportation Infrastructure – DNIT. Galileu will deliver the lecture “OAEs at DNIT: Design, Execution, Management, and Maintenance of Structures.”

Luiz Heleno Albuquerque Filho holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Geotechnics from the Escola de Minas at the Federal University of Ouro Preto, where he was a Professor of subjects in the field of Transportation. He is currently the General Coordinator of the Institute of Transportation Research (IPR), an Infrastructure Analyst at DNIT, and a Ph.D. candidate in Geotechnics at the University of Brasília. Luiz Heleno will deliver the lecture “SICRO – Innovation and challenges in the formation of public works prices.”

Galileu and Luiz Heleno coordinate the TED 703-2020 between UFV and DNIT. The research project under the PPGEC is coordinated at UFV by Prof. José Carlos Lopes Ribeiro and involves, in addition to equipment and laboratory infrastructure, several scholarships for master’s and doctoral students. On this occasion, the project coordinator and module coordinators will deliver the lecture “Research in Progress at TED UFV/DNIT.”
