PPGEC UFV attends the CAPES Mid-Term Seminar

The Mid-Term Seminar – CAPES is an event that takes place every four years as part of the evaluation process of Postgraduate Programs in Brazil. As the title suggests, this is carried out in the middle of the four-year period of evaluation. The Event was held in Brasília, in the CAPES building, Anysio Teixeira auditorium, on October 16th and 17th, 2023, referring to the Engineering 1 area, chaired by the area coordinator Prof. Rômulo Dante Orrico Filho (UFRJ), and the deputy coordinators of academic and professional programs Vladimir Caramori Borges de Souza (UFAL) and Augusto Cesar da Silva Bezerra (CEFET-MG). With the aim of monitoring the Programs aiming at the four-year evaluation process for the 2021-2024 cycle, the work was based on a simulation proposed by the coordination, which was prepared, evaluated by peers, and supported the discussions. The seminar also aimed to discuss the evaluation form for the 2021-2024 cycle and begin work on preparing the form for the 2025-2028 cycle. PPGEC UFV was represented by its coordinator and effectively participated in the simulation, submitting a document for peer evaluation and receiving feedback.

“The programming and methodology used were considered very appropriate and led to important diagnostic and very productive discussions, effectively contributing to the good construction of the 2021-2024 quadrennial evaluation report, and to adjustments and changes necessary to address any points of weakness and attention. We count on the effective participation of the entire PPGEC community in the consolidation and advancement of the Program, as a way of responding to the desires of its members and recognizing their efforts. Positioning PPGEC as a consolidated and reference Program is part of its objective and is of great importance for the entire community, which seeks appreciation and recognition of its efforts and attest to the quality of its training”.
