The 2023 PPGEC Research Integration Seminar

The Graduate Program in Civil Engineering (PPGEC) at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) held the 2023 Research Integration Seminar from October 24-26. The event brought together the PPGEC community to showcase research projects completed in the first semester of 2023, as well as to present institutional lectures and roundtables.

The event was organized by the PPGEC Communication and Events Committee, composed of professors Diogo Oliveira, Ítalo Ferreira, Juliana Lorentz, Natália Brasil, Nilcilene Medeiros, and undergraduate student Victoria Mendes. The event’s panel of speakers was composed of professors José Maria Franco de Carvalho (PPGEC coordinator), Júlio Oliveira (DEC chair), Maria Lúcia Calijuri, Afonso Santos, Eduardo Marques, Taciano Oliveira, and doctorate Arthur Silva.

On October 26, a brief awards ceremony was held to recognize outstanding faculty and students. The winners were:

• Faculty Award for Technological Production: Maria Lúcia Calijuri
• Faculty Award for Construction Engineering: José Maria Franco de Carvalho
• Faculty Award for Geotechnical Engineering: Eduardo Marques
• Faculty Award for Sanitary and Environmental Engineering: Maria Lúcia Calijuri
• Faculty Award for Spatial Information: Ítalo Oliveira Ferreira
• Graduate Student Award for Construction Engineering: Gustavo Henrique Nalon
• Graduate Student Award for Geotechnical Engineering: Carolina Crissafe Dos Santos Lemos
• Graduate Student Award for Sanitary and Environmental Engineering: Alexia Saleme Aona de Paula Pereira
• Graduate Student Award for Spatial Information: Hanna Aimée da Fraga Gonçalves

The seminar was a success and promoted knowledge exchange and networking among participants. The PPGEC community thanks the participants and invites everyone to the next event, which will be held in 2024.
